The grand daddy of analog synthesis and the keyboard that defined the decade of the 1980s, The Juno series of analog synthesizers is perhaps the most revered and famous sound in the history of keyboards. This is the third iteration of the famous line of synths (and probably the most famous and widely used), the Juno-106S. S? Yes, for "speakers"! That's right, factory built in 4" stereo speakers with a spectacular stereo image right in your face. Conceived during the golden era of Japanese technological advancement, The Juno first rolled out of the Roland factory in 1982 and since then have been used on more famous anthems than you can poke a stick at. "Take On Me", "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", even "Stacy's Mom", they all feature the original Roland Juno. William Ørbit, Überzone, Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), Autechre, BT, Vince Clarke, Moby, 808 State, Underworld, Leftfield, Fluke, Josh Wink, Todd Terry, Depeche Mode, Eat Static, Biosphere, The Prodigy, The Shamen, Bushflange, Cirrus, Astral Projection, Apollo 440, Faithless, Union Jack, Computer Controlled, Pet Shop Boys, Sneaker Pimps, Erasure, Freddy Fresh, Rabbit in the Moon, Kevin Saunderson, Jimmy Edgar, Laurent Garnier, Vangelis, Sigur Ros, and the Chemical Brothers,Black Eyed Peas, Daft PunkSigur RósTame Impala. The list goes on!

The Juno-106S features six voices of thick analog goodness, an arpeggiator, stereo chorus effect as well as LFO modulation. The user interface is slick and intuitive, the design shamelessly 80s and instantly recognisable in the studio or on stage. Fat bass, soaring leads, lush chorus-drenched major 7th chords, brass sections, the Juno does it all.

An oscillator (DCO), high pass, dynamic low pass filter, dynamic amp and an envelope are available for each voice. The sound generation is basically the same as that of the predecessor Juno-60.

However, the Juno-106 has more sound memories than its predecessor (128 compared to 56), which are organized in 2 groups with 8 banks of 8 sound programs each. Sound groups can also be stored on tape and loaded again.

The Juno-106 has a MIDI interface and transmits both notes and parameter values via SysEx data, so the Juno-106 can also send all necessary parameters to a second Juno-106 (or sequencer) when switching a sound program.
