The tension rods are the European style slotted tension rods. This kit is in gorgeous condition; the chrome is in need of a little cleaning, with only very light minor wear in a few spots. The duroplastic wrap is also in beautiful condition, with no marks, dings, or lifting at the seams. The parallel throw-off on the snare operates smoothly, and has the original snare wires on it. This is only a few sizes away from being the same kit that Ringo Starr initially played, before he signed on with Ludwig. A beautiful piece of drumming history with only a few complete kits like this still in circulation.
