About This Listing

For sale is the iconic 1967 Fender Mustang Bass in the captivating Daphne Blue finish, accompanied by its original hard-shell case. While the case exhibits some wear and a broken latch, it remains in good condition and fully functional.

This vintage bass guitar has been well-played but maintains its integrity, being in good condition and perfect working order. The instrument bears the marks of its history with scratches, dings, finish checking throughout, wear on the back, and a small, non-structural crack near the butt on the back. The crack is only surface-deep, not extending through the wood, and it does not reach the screws of the neck plate. Overall, the condition is rated a solid 7 out of 10.

The bass retains its originality, with the exception of the missing foam mutes on the bridge and the neck plate, which has been replaced with a period-correct 1966 Fender neck plate. The neck is straight, and the original frets are in excellent condition, ensuring a smooth playing experience without buzzing or dead spots. The bass has been recently set up for optimal performance.

Detailed photos of the actual bass guitar are provided for your inspection. If you're a fan of vintage Fender basses and appreciate the character that comes with age, this 1967 Fender Mustang Bass in Daphne Blue could be an excellent addition to your collection. Thank you for your interest.

Product Overview
Introduced two years after the Mustang guitar, the Mustang Bass was the first student-level bass produced by Fender as well as the last production bass designed by Leo Fender before he left the company. Targeted towards younger players, the Mustang Bass offered a shorter 30-inch scale length as well as a lower price-point than the Precision or Jazz Basses of the mid-'60s. The split single-coil pickup was also smaller than that of the P Bass, but still captured a wide range of bass tones.
