Elektron Syntakt
A Must-Hear Analog-Digital Drum Machine
How new can a new drum machine really sound? To know for sure, you'll have to play the Syntakt for yourself. A 12-track hybrid instrument, the Syntakt gives you four powerful analog tracks and eight digital ones that you can—and should—combine at will.
With the Elektron Syntakt, you get the flexibility of digital with the richness of analog, all wrapped up in a next-level performance machine. While much of the workflow will be familiar to anyone who's used Elektron instruments like the Model:Cycles, Digtone, or Digitakt, there are features on the Syntakt that you can't find on any other machine, including Trig Modifiers, which you can use to create custom triggering events throughout a performance.
Features, according to Elektron, include:
- Low Pass and High Pass Filter Modes
- A Fuzz knob that goes from smooth drive to gated freakouts
- Resonance knob that can go into self-oscillation
- Selectable positive or negative envelope
- +/- 5V CV in for control of filter
- +/- 5V CV out from the envelope
Hear the Syntakt's incredible analog-digital sounds, and see how the Trig Modifiers can transform your sequences during live performance.
The New Elektron Trinity
Three previous Elektron devices—the Octatrack, Machinedrum, and Monomachine—were the original Elektron Trilogy, since each instrument was created with each of the others in mind. The release of the Syntakt creates a new Trilogy. When combined with the Digitone and Digitakt, the Syntakt can create tracks and performances you'd never be able to make with just one instrument.
