We all know that Alctron sounds great at their price point, but with our modifications are a top tier contender and handily deliver twice the audio performance of anything in their price range.

They simply sound excellent with better bandwidth, higher headroom and sound less muddy to boot.

Note this unit has the stock transformers with our full circuit upgrade which includes all transistors, capacitors, tweaks etc.

For those that will inquire, we recommend our circuit upgrade over a transformer upgrade on these designs for performance reasons.

In our broad experience, the transformer upgrade only changes the character of these units but does not increase their performance for the most part so customers will get a lot more bang for the buck with our circuit upgrade.

The character smoothes out and the noise floor is lowered to a point where the audio is just right and a lot closer to the original Neve Design.

What we do to these little boxes is essentially gut the insides.

We pull all of the transistors out and replace them with high HFE transistors for better bandwidth and lower noise to more closely resemble the original Neve design.

We then pull all of the caps out the unit and replace them with long life, audio grade Panasonic capacitors for even lower noise and better musicality as well as tantalums in key locations like the original.

The power supply is then upgraded for longer life, lower noise and better filtration of noise as the icing on the cake.

They come out sounding very transparent and dynamic with a thick audio character to simply fatten tracks up or to compress and limit for impact and levelling

Compressor+Limiter, Diode Bridge, Neve 2254 Transformer coupled design.

Based off the Classic Rupert Neve 2254 Diode Bridge Compressor, this design is fully discrete and transformer coupled with three custom Alctron Audio Transformers in the audio path for oober analog warmth and clarity at the same time.

Product introduction:

CP540V2 is a one channel microphone signal compressor and limiter. Both the compression and limiter electronics circuits are completely independent and can be used separately or together via the illuminated buttons that corresponds to each side. This allows for not only compression of the input signal but also limiting of the output level.

A full compliment of controls are at your disposal on the front panel to apply compressive eq or simply to reduce levels.

These are a very musical design and well built.
