The Chicago Music Exchange's take on the Player Jazzmaster features a number of subtle and clever appointments that make it a great choice for tinkerers, or just those looking for a high quality, affordable instrument. Electronically, CME's Player features Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster pickups, long used on the high-end American Vintage series Jazzmaster, as well as a four-way pickup selector that switches the pickups between being wired in series or parallel (similar to features on the American Ultra series), unlocking wide tonal variety. Underneath the pickguard, these guitars come pre-routed for the typical Jazzmaster control wheels and rhythm/lead switch, a great mod for those interested in a little soldering work. Add matching headstocks and a unique colorway to the equation, and the CME Exclusive Player Jazzmaster becomes one of the pound-for-pound highlights of the Fender line.
