This handmade instrument features a repurposed Oscar Valladares box that measures approximately 13"x7" and is sealed in an oil rubbed finish. The neck is Poplar and is strike thru style. Total length is 35" from top to bottom. Strings are rear loaded, and are Ernie Ball Slinky 32, 24, 16 and are tuned GDG. The neck features an Oak fingerboard with a 24.75" etched fret layout. It is stained black with silver fret markers on the front and side. Nut is hand carved bone. Tuners are mini sealed modern style in semi gloss black. Other hardware includes chrome string retainers, soundhole, and grommets. Bridge is ebony stained Poplar with a hand installed fret for good sustain. Piezo sensor pickupis wired direct to jack. The action is set for slide playing, but traditional "fretting" of notes is possible as well. As with any handmade instrument, expect blemishes and character marks, as this is not a mass produced piece.
