About This Listing

The Sonor team, in cooperation with artists and collectors, worked tirelessly to bring the Vintage Series line of instruments as close as possible to the look, feel and sound of its predecessor the Teardrop drums. Sonor then combined its knowledge of modern drum building with the look and sound of vintage drums to create an instrument that will hold up to todays modern playing.Utilizing rounded bearing edges on all drums, the Vintage Series represents the return of the old Sonor sound into its product line. Sonor introduced the 45 degree bearing edge in 1975, which is still in use today on all SQ2, Prolite, and Force series drums. With the addition of the Vintage Series, drummers will have access to a complete palette of sounds that is uniquely Sonor.

All drums are constructed from 9ply / 6 mm cross laminated tension free (CLTF) Beech Shells. Snares, Toms, and Floor Toms come with the redesigned original 2.3 mm triple flanged steel Superprofil hoop from the 1950s. All Sonor lugs are equipped with the patented TuneSafe, which prevents the tension rods from loosening. Bass Drums come with Classic, Vintage-Style Claws with classic design tuning wing screws. Tom Toms / Floor Toms come with Ambassador coated batter, Ambassador clear resonant. Snare Drums come with Ambassador coated batter, Ambassador snare clear resonant. Bass Drums 18 and 20 come with Powerstroke3 coated batter, 22 and 24 come with Powerstroke 3 Black Dot batter. All bass drums come with Powerstroke3 Fiberskyn resonant heads with the Vintage Sonor script logo.
