Le SQ-64 a beau être compact, il propose une entrée et deux sorties MIDI, un port micro USB, une entrée / sortie Sync, 3 sorties CV/Gate/Modulation et 8 sorties Triggers.

Les 64 pas ont chacun leur propre pad lumineux. Ceux-ci s'éclairent avec des variations d'intensité permettant au premier coup d'œil de voir comment la séquence est construite.
