The compact Noise Gate pedal from Hot Box Pedals is the ideal addition to the end of the effect pedal chain. A simple, yet effective pedal, the noise gate works to minimize and eliminate any sounds, or buzzes extraneous to the desired effects or guitar sounds leaving the pedal set up and proceeding through to the amplifier. It ensures a "cleaner" and tidier finish, and removes the burden from the player of switching pedals off immediately after playing a solo or a song passage.

How to Use the Noise Gate?
A noise gate is works as a noise eliminator that prevents unwanted buzzes and feedback from being amplified when you are not playing guitar. Setting a threshold, or volume level limit on the pedal determines when the noise gate is "opened" to let signal pass, and when it "shuts" to prevent signal from passing through to the amp. To achieve this, set the amp, pedal and guitar levels to the optimum level and then wind in the threshold to the point where all the notes, sustains and chords ring true and then cut off before any buzz, noise, or feedback enters the amp.
