The MKS No. 1 is a concert grade, fully-decorated Kharaj Pancham / Ravi Shankar style sitar. No. 1 grade models are constructed using only the best components available to the maker - the straightest neck, the largest gourd, the nicest jawari and other pieces. Monoj Kumar Sardar & Bros. (a.k.a. "MKS" or "Sardar") is a well established name in Kolkata. This is their very best sitar. The fit and finish of this sitar is outstanding. The tone is incredible.
These are available from our inventory in the U.S. No special ordering is required. Each one is set up by skilled musicians at our Urbana, IL shop before shipping.
