The e614 is a supercardioid back-electret condenser microphone, designed for demanding instrument recordings that require extended frequency response, high SPL, fast transient response and compact mic size. While percussion overhead miking was the first design priority, the e614 also works exceptionally well on woodwind and string instruments, and is a good choice for flute and sax where it captures the full body of the instrument. The e614 can handle high SPLs and features a medium sensitivity, which ensures reduced bleed from other instrumentson stage. Because of its excellent acoustic properties this mic is also ideal for home recording.
Features: - 40 - 20,000 Hz - Designed for demanding applications where extended frequency range, high SPL, fast transient response and small size are required - Captures the "air"and the body of the instrument - Nearly flat response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz and a super cardioid pattern - Pick Up Pattern: Supercardioid - Frequency Response: 40 - 20,000 Hz - Sensitivity: 3.0 mV / Pa - Nominal Impedance: 50 O - Min Terminating Impedance: 1 O kW - Dimensions: .70" x 3.94" - Weight: 3.28 oz. - Transducer Principle: Electret Condenser - Power Supply: 12 - 52 V / 3 mA phantom powering
The Sennheiser e614 is a small diaphragm condenser mic that beautifully captures all sorts of instruments, drum overheads and cymbals its specialty. The supercardioid pattern ensures plenty of rejection of reflections and nearby instruments and amps, and with a slightly lower average output than most microphones of this type, the e614 can take on loud sources without needing to be padded down at the mic pre.
