About This Listing
Here is a vintage 1966 Gibson J-45 who started its life as a Cherry Sunburst but that faded to a nice natural honey colour. The action is awesome, the neck is straight as an arrow. I own this guitar for the last 20 years and it was my main acoustic around the house and in the studio. I took the adjustable bridge out and filled the cavity with an inserted piece of rosewood to improve the projection. It is totally reversible as I didn’t glue the piece of rosewood. Another thing to note is the headstock suffered a partial crack that was fixed before I own the guitar. It is solid and stable but the refinish was made with some brownish paint to try to mix the colour of the mahogany. This guitar stays in tune and is one of the best sounding J-45 I’ve ever played.
