1971 Martin D-18
The Wonderful sound of Mahogany and Spruce is hard to compete with in a vintage acoustic guitar. This D-18 is a winner!

If you are a gigging musician a bit strapped for cash and unable to afford the real crazy prices of vintage, or a beginner who has yet to learn the importance of aged wood and player wear - this is a fine choice.

To the musician this guitar has been sitting for 10 years after a lot of action, so it needs a fret dress. I just put on new strings and a battery for the Fishman pickup...sounds great.

To the beginner, forget those new pretty ones, as you grow as a musician only the sound and neck matters. When you see pick wear: around the sound hole, on the pick guard, below the pick guard, or player wear on the back of the neck that means the guitar inspired someone to  play it...because it likely sounds great.

Good tone inspires playing!

Age matters...this D-18 is 50 years old with the rich tone and color only time can provide.

I'm selling this guitar for a fellow musician that is a lifelong friend of one of my best friends. I consign only the finest instruments. I will provide my services for a $400 guitar that is a great example of it's kind, yet greatly appreciate all opportunities to handle the sales of very fine Vintage instruments!

Every sale I have made at Reverb and EBay has garnered excellent reviews for communication, honesty in business and attention to detail in shipping and handling.

I look forward to meeting the needs of all individuals from beginners to the most discriminating customers.

Demonstration and/or local pickup may be possible, however, I need to coordinate with the owner who has possession of the guitar.

* Below is my reply to a Reverb message inquiring about any cracks or scratches 3 photos added 1/2/22):
A) In the first of three photos the number 1 arrow points to either two small cracks (or surface scratches), my finger nail slight dips into the two imperfections. Arrow 2 points to what is likely a surface scratch. Marks are an inch or less long.

B) the second and third photos are of one mark that seems to be a finish scratch as best I can tell.
