About This Listing

Yamaha NS-10M:.
The legendary monitors found at mixing desks around the world!

Description

Although the ubiquitous Yamaha NS-10M speaker was originally designed for home use, by virtue of its incredibly accurate temporal response and low distortion, it became perhaps the most widely-used studio monitor in the world. The original NS-10 was released in 1978 during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment production, but even today, after more than 40 years, these monitors are still found in innumerable studios around the world. The Yamaha NS-10s were used to mix countless classic records, by artists such as Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, and Hall and Oates. The NS-10M features an updated tweeter and crossover. Whether you're looking for extreme precision in the time-domain for your mixing or just want to listen to a piece of audiophile history, look no further than the Yamaha NS-10M.

These particular speakers are in very good condition, with only minor signs of use (please see photos), some scratches, discoloration and tiny cracks on its body. Both of corn has minor coloration (Please see photos). The speakers have been thoroughly tested and checked by our professional in-house technician, confirming their flawless working quality.

Product Overview
Few studio monitors have enjoyed the longevity and acclaim (as well as an army of vocal detractors...) of the Yamaha NS-10M, which isn't all that bad for a speaker that was originally designed and marketed for casual home listening. They've got anything but a flat response, but the idea is that when you get a mix perfect on a pair of NS-10M's, that mix will be perfect everywhere. When legendary engineer Bob Clearmountain started carting his set around NYC in the 1980s, colleagues took notice and the NS-10M became standard-issue kit for major recording studios all over the globe.
