The SG Classic Worn electric guitar is part of Epiphone’s new Modern SG Collection and recreates the original 1960s SG (Solid Guitar) powered by P-90 PROTM single coil pickups.
A New “Vintage” SG
The Epiphone SG Classic Worn has a solid Mahogany body along with a SG-style “batwing” pickguard. The SG Classic Worn has the same historic profile of the vintage SG that briefly replaced the Les Paul as the ultimate solid body guitar. The set Mahogany neck has an easy-to-play 60s era SlimTaper profile with a worn open grain finish, that when combined with the worn color finishes gives the SG Classic Worn an elegant look. The neck has a 24.75” scale length, 22 medium jumbo frets, an Indian Laurel fingerboard with dot inlays, and a 12” fingerboard radius. The fingerboard has white binding and the ABS nut is 1.68”. Epiphone’s famous small sloped dovewing headstock has a “bell” shaped truss rod cover and along with an Epiphone 60s-era slanted logo in mother of pearl.
Soapbar P-90 PRO Single Coil Pickups
The Epiphone SG Classic Worn Collection features two black P-90 PRO single coil pickups. The P-90 PRO single coil pickup follows in the footsteps of Epiphone's critically acclaimed ProBucker humbuckers with 8% Nickel Silver covers designed and tooled from the ground up with new bobbins manufactured to historic dimensions. These P-90s also feature Elektrisola magnet wire, sand cast Alnico V magnets, and pole shoes manufactured using correct alloys and to Gibson's original dimensions. Each pickup has a Volume and Tone control with vintage-styled Black Top Hats knobs with inserts plus Epiphone’s all-metal 3-way pickup selector switch with a white cap and SG style Rhythm and Treble etching in silver.
LockTone ABR Bridge and Stopbar Tailpiece
The SG Classic Worn comes with Epiphone’s rock-solid nickel hardware including a LockTone ABR bridge and Stopbar tailpiece combo that auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed. Tuning is fast and accurate with Epiphone Deluxe tuners with white plastic buttons.
