The original was long ago discontinued, but Avantone have paired up with Chris Lord Alge—an avid user of the original—to make sure the CLA-10s provide the same feel and frequency response. The AV10 MHF tweeter and woofer match the original unit's components in timbre, with the tweeter utilizing an exact phenolic-resin-doping design to secure the same performance curve.

There are some differences in the construction, however: For one, the rear terminal plate has been updated with high-grade connectors; For another, the woofer's cone has been pressed instead of lapped to ensure more control over stiffness and weight. Still, in testing, the tonal response of the CLA-10 matches the original, giving you the same frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz, the same average power of 60W, and the same sensitivity of 90 dB. These are passive studio monitors and will require a separate amplifier for reproducing sound.
