This is an awesome National Triolian Tenor guitar from somewhere around 1930. I don't know the exact year but if you are more knowledgeable with that info I would be happy to add it to the listing. Always love getting any feedback on a listing when I'm not an expert. Although I am a guitar player, I am not very experienced with tenor guitars, but I can tell you this is really fun to play and you pick it up quickly. Currently tuned to CGDA, but there are other popular tunings for tenors as well. It plays nicely and has good action. I took it in to San Diego's finest repair shop and had Brandon Madrid at Madrid Guitars go through it. He sucked out a few 90+ year old dust bunnies, made a slight adjustment on the biscuit to improve action and it's ready to roll. It didn't need much really.
The exterior is obviously chipping a fair amount around the edges and elsewhere. 90 years of honest wear. It's not a museum piece, but personally I'd rather own something that has been loved and played all these years than something that sat under the bed and never made music. The sound is unmistakable National Triolian Resonator. Loud and clear and so cool. The neck shows wear but I think visually it looks more worn than it feels under your fingers and in your hands. Not sure if that makes sense. Tuners works great although a little tight on a couple. Not stuck or anything...just tighter than the other two. Still very tunable and works very well. Stays in tune great!
Unfortunately the original case is no longer with this guitar. It comes with a modern padded gig bag. Shipping is USA only. Sorry but I can't do international sales. Shipping will be $80 flat fee in the USA. Local pickup in north San Diego area is also available at no charge. Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer in a timely manner.
