2013 all original Johnny Marr Jaguar®, Rosewood Fingerboard, Olympic White Model # 0116400705

It truly saddens me to have to part ways with my favorite instrument, but unfortunately, I have to for personnel reasons.. I got this guitar as a Christmas present over 10 years ago, I was only 15 years old, and it has never left me ever since. This piece of wood has been with me through thick and thin which makes this guitar mean a whole lot to me.
This is without a doubt the best if not second best Jag I have ever laid my hands on. It traveled quite a bit along side me during these years, in particular back and forth to miami and LA from Paris mainly, which is most likely responsable for the cracks in the finish I’m not sure, but all of the wear on the guitar is genuine. I’m pretty sure it’s also responsible for the “yellowing” of the finish which I think looks so much better than the white color it was when I first got the guitar in 2013. The nitrocellulose Lacquer finish Is particularly thin on this model, and it peels off really easily. I don’t believe it is possible to actually play this instrument as it should be used, and keep it in mint condition.. But i find it to give the guitar character and only makes it more unique. Nitrocellulose lacquer is one of the great original-era Fender electric guitar finishes, and is still used today on a few selected instruments. Thin, porous and delicate, it’s a premium finish prized for its sonic qualities that let the body woods breathe with their true tonal character, and allow an appearance that ages and wears in a distinctive way making each one of the Johnny Marr jags completely unique.
The neck is just just a bit thicker than your average jaguar, but it’s still far from your chunky Stratocaster. I believe it’s just a perfect, confortable and easy to play neck that, thanks to its shorter scale, will satisfy all players regardless if you’re 7 feet tall or if you’re 12 yo. It features an unbelievable rosewood Slab Board fingerboard & a custom profil maple neck (inspired by Johnny’s personal favorite 1965 fender neck). As you can see on the pictures, the back of the neck has been stripped off its factory glossy/sticky finish to get this amazing bare wood/ worn in feel. It has been beautifully tinted and then sealed by nothing but a extremely thin coat of natural beeswax « True Oil » preventing the bare wood to suffer from potential environmental consequences (humidity etc..) and insure its ready to be played no matter the weather or the climatic circumstances. The lack of finish truly makes the instrument even more resonant and allows the maple to breath and exhibit its true tonal properties. This is honestly the best souding/most versatile Jag I have laid my hands on to this day, and deciding to get the neck sanded down is one of the best thing I’ve ever done…
