Aria Diamond Series Hollow Body Bass Guitar, Matsomuko 1960's Red burst

         1960's Aria Diamond series hollow body bass crafted at the celebrated Matsomuko factory. This guitar is a rescue that was missing the bridge, tuner bushings and love. Previous owner had a wooden block attached to the tailpiece to raise the strings above the pickup and neck.      It is a true hollow body, no center block. Everything works. The pickup is killer 17K resistance. The truss rod has very little headroom but the neck is totally playable. Note the quality appointments, multiple ply binding on the body and neck, single ply on the back. Solid wood spacer under the pickup (pic7). Matching tortoise shell headstock covering and truss rod cover. Raised brand Logo.
     The chrome hardware has some light pitting as is to be expected on a Japanese guitar of this vintage. The body has some scuffs and dings from 50+ years of use, The last 6 pictures show the blemishes that can be picked up by the camera. The back of the headstock had a separation at one of the seams (pic 6) that I repaired and re-applied top coat.
     There are a few non-original parts. The bridge is from a 60's Teisco hollow body, bone nut. The end caps on the tailpiece are not original.
