Kala U Bass SSMHG-LH-FS Natural Left Handed Ukulele Bass

Here for sale we have a left handed Kala U Bass in Natural finish. This electro acoustic ukulele bass features a solid Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, a Mahogany neck, a 16 fret Laurel fingerboard, Hipshot machine heads, along with a Shadow preamp system with controls for volume, tone and a built in tuner.

The satin finish neck plays very well, offering a smooth and easy playing surface. The neck profile is slightly chunkier than what would be expected from such a small instrument, filling the hand nicely without being overbearing.

The tone of the U Bass is warm and mellow, with a rich and rounded low end, a soft midrange, and even some good articulation with the tone control all the way up. The polyurethane strings are great for the softer tones, muting nicely and feeling very easy on the fingers. Overall a lovely little bass for the money.

Headstock- Finish chipping is visible around the edges of the headstock, there is residue around the nut from the adhesive used to hold this is placed visible to each side of the nut on the face and some on the fretboard not affecting functionality.

Neck- Light indents are visible but playability is not affected from my experience of playing the instrument.

Body- A few very light scratches and indents are visible, the body is structurally sound only showing these light markings.

Shape and condition is very good

Truss Rod & Bridge- Fully Functional and can be adjusted

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- 4mm each side, which is comfortable on this specific kind of Ukulele due to the string specification.

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

Strings on the U bass are rather specific using yellow Pahoehoe polyurethane strings for the upright tone. There is room in the saddle for adjustment but the playability is very good for these specific string types and for this instrument type.

Electrics are in full working order

Aesthetic markings are visible from previous use mainly to the headstock where they are most visible but I wouldn't say attention is drawn to them. The hardware and electrics are functional. The frets also cannot wear with these strings due to the material of the strings, their shape is very good also.
