During the COVID pandemic we flagged and held back several Pono ukuleles. And so now, we need to move them out. They are all new, in excellent condition, never played, and never sold. Absolutely no structural issues, only cosmetic, not meeting up to our high standards of cosmetic beauty. Some have minor scratches or dents, but in most cases they are just old stock that needs to be sold.
All sales are final, no returns, no refunds. Although this may cause some anxiety, anyone who has purchased a Pono instrument knows our honest reputation. So you will be buying a new instrument at a fraction of the original cost.
This MTD-8, tenor 8 string model is part of our Delux Basic Series . Solid Honduran Mahogany top, back, and sides, wood marquetry rosette, ebony fingerboard, bridge, and faceplate, bone nut and saddle, solid headstock, and gloss finish.
All Pono instruments are made of all solid woods, no laminates. Real wood marquetry rosettes, bone nuts and saddles, and Grover tuners. Fingerboards and bridges are Macassar Ebony (the highest quality Ebony), solid or slotted headstocks, Grover tuners, and either satin or gloss finishes.
Tenor and Baritone models have a two way adjustable truss rod to easily adjust neck angle and action.
The are no issues with this model, structurally sound. It's simply an overstock item, and now not a current 2022 model, so we need to clear out inventory. We used to sell these out of our showroom, but since the pandemic began we closed down visitation. This particular MTD-8 model is actually in excellent condition. But because you need to buy "sight unseen" we have reduced prices.
Designs are the same for 2022, none have changed.
Current 2022 Retail Price for this particular model is $829. And the retail price will increase to $899 in July.
