Classic Kay plywood upright bass (serial 7032) with surprisingly good tone. One set of hands that it passed through put a questionable coat of paint on it, and against all odds, it still sounds great. Unique look. Good for a bluegrass festival or a student orchestra.
Had a set-up done including an adjustable bridge, piezo bridge pick-up, and new endpin. I play it more acoustically so can’t vouch too much for the pick-up.
Great bass played in orchestra and for jazz over ~12 year stretch, just time for a new season. Rough gig bag and rosin included.
