For sale is a homemade Jazzmaster/Jaguar partscaster body.
The body is made from reclaimed white birch (Betula papyrifera) and the top is made from local eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis).
The
paper birch wood used for this guitar are reclaimed from a
neighbor's kitchen rebuild and the hemlock is cast off from a friend's
deck build. The birch was stored for a while in a barn so has small
insect holes as a result, which add a cool character to the wood.
The
body is chambered to reduce weight and has ~a 4" wide block of solid
wood in the center for mounting the bridge to. There is also enough wood
there to route a trem pocket, should you want to. Was designed to be a hardtail offset build and
leaves the possibility for many options - short tele bridge, strat bridge, or
to be drilled for Fender Jazzmaster or Gibson style tune-o-matics.
Body has one coat of Danish oil and 2 coats of water-based poly. This will
protect during shipping but is also perfect for beginning your project.
I have routed out the pickup cavities but may require minor sanding adjustment
to fit parts, as I can't guarantee all parts will fit.
Body weighs 4 pounds, 11 oz and body is approx. 1.75" thick.
Standard Fender Strat neck pocket and pickup routes. Control cavity is routed
to accommodate a Jazzmaster or Jaguar pickguard configuration.
