You are looking at a quality Shure Brothers SM-58 dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1970's that has been cleaned and tested. This was the earlier hard to find American made model that was superior to the late models made in Mexico. It comes with a newer Shure mic clip, new outer pop filter and a nice vinyl Shure carrying case.

 Pic # 2 is from a 1970's Shure listing that shows most of the mics basic info. These are highly sought after by musicians today because of their ability to take a beating and excellent sound characteristics.

 The Shure SM58 has been manufactured for many years now and the current mic has been coming out of China or Mexico for probably 30 years. This early American made SM-58 model is far superior and the sound quality is said to be much better. These mics are so well made that properly stored...will last probably 100 years.

 You can tell in a side by side test with a new and old SM-58 mic if you have an ear for sound. Apparently the American made SM-58's had a different iron content in the transformer giving it a more distinct tone. These seem to sell for about 2 to 3 times as much as the new ones and are very popular with musicians who used to use these back in the 1970's and 80's.

 This SM-58 has a beautiful warm tone and it's dual impedance so it can be set at High Z if you'd like but with a regular XLR cable it's low impedance. These mics are uni-directional picking up only the sound that's directly in front of the screen cancelling out most background noise making it ideal for situations where audience or fellow band members might be a problem.

 These lite weight mics are built like tanks and can be handheld or placed in a mic clip.

 As you can see there are typical signs of wear on the original painted handle. This example is still above average for a mic of this age. The paint has been rubbed off from years of use with small scratches and small paint chips. The mic is free of any dents or fractures however. The Shure label looks very nice and completely legible. The front grill looks spectacular and is free of any dents, tarnish or corrosion. A new inner foam insert had been installed and works excellent. I usually replace these as the older ones are in rough and degraded condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions.

 I'm also including a new exterior pop filter as well which also helps with the acoustics of the mic. Fits perfectly and you can easily remove it if you don't want to use it during recording or singing.

 Mic is 100% complete and solid. No loose parts.

  Microphone is a very conservative 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event.
