As one of the pioneering electric guitars in rock music the SG has killer sustain and blazing rock sound. It features the legendary Gibson SG build, very playable design specs, and dual 490 Alnico II pickups. This guitar is for the player who loves classic rock sound and awesome rock looks. Legendary Gibson SG Build With its immediately recognizable dual "horns", the body of the SG Standard is built from mahogany shaped into a double cutaway design. The mahogany neck features a long tenon 19th fret neck joint, and runs right into the body for great sustain with every note. It also has a 24.75" scale length and rounded profile for a great feel. Very Playable Design Specs The fretboard on the SG Standard is bound rosewood lined with acrylic trapezoid inlays. A Graph Tech nut allows the strings to move smoothly when bending. The headstock bears the Gibson name and is adorned with Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons. On the body, an aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop bar keep the strings secure. Dual 490 Alnico II Pickups With this level of craftsmanship, it's important that the pickups in this guitar can handle its underlying power. Gibson outfitted this awesome SG with dual 490 Alnico II pickups for clear, bright tone that articulately handles gain and effects. With 2 volume and 2 tone controls, as well as a three-way toggle switch, there's little the SG Standard can't handle. BM7268
