Unit is in good working condition. Some age-appropriate wear and tear. This unit has an upgrade on it in that it can read modern SD drives instead of a floppy disc. You can see it in the picture.
I bought it used about four years ago. Had some fun with it but never really took the time to learn how to sample and make complex productions. I havent used it in a while and I plan to move so just trying to make space.
This is the same model of unit involved in making most of your favorite 90’s hip-hop. I hope someone makes good use of it. Its really a cool piece of equipment.
The Akai MPC2000XL Production Center is an expansion on one of the classic beat machines of the 1990s, sporting a throwback feel and plenty of power in one chassis. Sharing the same 32 voices of polyphony, floppy disk storage, and 64-track sampling capacity as its predecessor, the XL incorporated a slew of new features like four onboard keys for quick bank access, multi-program playback, and the intuitive Next Sequence key to quickly kick in a new section. A classic that's been used by artists from DJ Shadow to Kanye West, the MPC2000XL is a worthy addition to any home producer's rig.
