If you collect '70s Fenders you'll know what this is for. It protects the body from being impressed when you tighten down the neck plate screws. I think it also screws up the sustain of the guitar but what the heck do I know, right? We found three of these in the huge old repair dude's stash. The mold marks are identical to the early ones stamped 011100 2 but instead of that there is a tiny lot number stamp that looks like 22 or 21 backwards.
