This is a 1953 Gibson J45 Acoustic Guitar.
The guitar is 100% original (with the exception of the endpin) and has no breaks or cracks of any kind. It is fresh out of Gruhn Guitars repair shop, where it received a neck reset, frets, braces glued, bridge glued etc. The receipt for that can be seen in the last pic. Needless to say, it is in tip top shape and needs nothing.
There is no serial number of FON number, but due to the specific features, I believe this to be a 1953. The finish is in really nice condition and shows some normal playwear around the soundhole. There is nice checking throughout. The back of the guitar has some spots where it looks like the guitar was stored in the case, with a strap, and the strap deteriorated the finish. Difficult to photograph and not major, but it is there.
The guitar is setup with 12's and it has "meduim" action as it sits. There is plenty of saddle if you wanted it lower. It comes in an older non-original chip board case. Not the best, but will protect it for shipping.
I purchased this guitar in Alabama from the son of the original owner a few years ago and began the process of getting the work done.
It is definitely a keeper, but I am fortunate to have a Banner SJ as well, so this one has to go...
