Designed to capture the feel of the earliest Fender solidbody guitars, the Fender Vintera ’50s Stratocaster Modified has all the vibe of a classic Strat without the price tag of an original. This Strat stays true to its roots with a maple neck and fingerboard, singly-ply white pickguard, and vintage colors. To improve playability, the ’50s modified Strat has updated features, such as the Tim Shaw–designed Hot ’56 pickups, modern "C" neck profile, 9.5"-radius fingerboard, and S-1 switching. The classic alder body and improved tonal options even earned the respect of classic Strat purists. The improved playability coupled with vintage attitude will make the Fender Vintera ’50s Stratocaster Modified your favorite axe for years to come.
Familiar neck and fingerboard
The Fender Vintera '50s Stratocaster Modified has an updated neck profile and fingerboard radius that set it apart from other vintage Strats. The thin, modern "C" neck profile will feel comfortable in your hand and is perfect for thumb-over players. Meanwhile, the maple fretboard's 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets will take no getting used to. Add in the locking vintage tuners, Baja neck plate, and vintage-correct neck tint, and you've got a winning combo of vintage appearance and modern feel.
Hot '56 pickups and upgraded controls
The first thing you'll notice when you plug in this guitar is the tone. This Strat comes loaded with Tim Shaw–designed Hot '56 pickups that add extra output to the clean chime of vintage pickups. Unlike other vintage-style Strats, the '50s modified comes with a 5-way switch, 2-point tremolo bridge, and Fender's S-1 switch. When you engage the S-1 switch, you add the neck pickup into positions 1 and 2. Now, you can finally play through all pickups at once or with the neck and bridge at the same time.
The Vintera Series — value-priced, vintage-styled Fenders
The Vintera Series offers Fender’s most popular models in a myriad of shapes and sizes. These instruments are ideal for players who dig vintage-style Fenders, but feel that American Original and Custom Shop guitars are out of their reach. Vintera Series instruments are available in both Vintage and Modified configurations: Vintage models span the ’50s to the ’70s, with period-correct specifications for each era, while Modified models look like vintage instruments but include modern updates that contemporary guitarists will appreciate. All Vintera Series guitars and basses boast Tim Shaw–designed pickups and are available in a wide array of vintage-inspired colors. The guitarists have found the Vintera Series to be the perfect introduction to Fender’s iconic lineup of legendary instruments.
