The Fender Parallel Universe Vol. II Maverick Dorado pays homage to a rarely-seen guitar in Fender history. Released in 1969, the Maverick (or “Custom”) was a hodge-podge of parts made of leftover 12-string necks, bodies, and pickups. Still, it had a goofy grandeur. The Maverick Dorado proudly takes that design, and adds Tim Shaw humbuckers and a Bigsby vibrato to create a modern, professional instrument with serious swagger.
