About This Listing

This is a beautiful and collectible Custom Shop J-45 Limited Edition in a stunning ebony finish with period specific 60's appointments. It plays and sounds great. The neck is super comfortable - this is one of those instruments you never want to put down.

Period specific features from 1968 include:

- thick white pickguard
- 68 Gibson logo
- adjustable porcelain bridge
- special ebony finish
- vintage white button tuners
- white single ply binding

Additional features include a solid sitka spruce top, solid Honduran mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The Gibson Custom Shop logo displayed on the back of the headstock. This is one of the most beautiful acoustics that I have ever seen and played.

I purchased this beauty new for my collection and played it only to test upon arrival. I have stored it carefully in a humidity controlled environment. This is a very rare, limited run, collectible and beautiful instrument.

I have spoken to my friends in collector circles and these are highly prized and rare J-45's. There are very few in existence, and it is almost impossible to find one in new condition.

This is an extremely well crafted and resonant instrument. In my opinion, Gibson Custom was building some of their best acoustics during this time period. The workmanship and attention to detail on this guitar is impressive. It plays and sounds fantastic and has zero playtime and zero fret wear.

The tone, resonance, weight balance and quality of the finish and fretboard are out of this world.

Includes original Gibson hard shell case and factory packing checklist. Shipping cost includes insurance.

Available for local pickup in North San Diego. If you are outside the US, please message me so I can check international shipping rates and availability.
