Fender 1989 Stratocaster MIJ '54 reissue Clapton model LS - AGED Natural Refinish - Player Grade -

Up for sale is a Vintage player grade Stratocaster from 1989, Fender Japan ST54-77LS. Made in Japan in very good era. The ST54-77LS model features Alder body, Maple neck, USA-made Lace Sensor pickups with surprisingly useful “Mid Boost” Circuit (+5db).

It has many wear and tear just like relic guitars. Has been refinished to Natural finish. The tuners have been replaced with locking tuners (there are many screw holes for tuners at the back of the headstock). A tip of screw is remaining at the one of the screw holes (see pic).

I personally love the feel of body. The actual color is very cool and close to Brick Red color. The original poly finish removed and it's refinished with varnish so touch and feel is like antique furniture. There is no thick tone killing poly skin so it sounds more clear when unplugged.

The body has a major ding at the edge of the backside (see pic), dings and scratches on the sides, dings and some buckle rash on the backside, some small dings and scratches on the top, it has uneven finish at several points but overall looks very cool as you can see in the pics.

The neck has wear and marks at the fretboard like relic, some dings and finish peelings at the edges of the fretboard, some minor dings on the backside but is quality maple wood with lightly flamed. The metal hardware is tarnished and has scratches but looks great.

The neck is straight with no hump or warped. The truss rod works fine at the either directions. The action at the 12th fret is 1.7mm/1.8mm. The frets are around 60% and show some grooves but no dead-spots. All electronics and controls are working fine with the original pickups. Sounds and plays great.

The serial number is F000068 (Made in Japan), the neck date is June 2nd 1989, the original full size pot dates to 1989. The model name is stamped at the neck pocket (see pic).
