I bought this home theater receivery as a backup to my primary home theater. It was only in use for a 60 day period while my primary HTR vintage components underwent extensive service repairing. Unfortunately due to the 60 day period I couldn't return the Sony to my local Best Buy . Also please note this device was tested on all inputs except the SATV input that I never used. Upon purchase you will get the following:
- Sony Home Theater Receiver model STR-DH590
- The original Remote (yes batteries will be included)
- The original Owners Manual and Quick Start Guide from Sony . I believe there is also a code w/in the manual or directions on how to register the device. I didn't need to read through the receiver is a no-brainer to install compared to Yamaha junk.
- The original 2 year warranty ( barcode is on the back panel of the receiver to register w/ Sony). I didn't want to register this device b/c I was under the impression that I would be ultimately be returning the device as soon as my separate Rotel audio components were repaired.
- FY I - This Sony actually exceeding my expectations by far. It drove my both my Klipsch RP-5000Fs as well as my Klipsch SPL subwoofer very well. Though not quite as great as my 1990 Rotel Power amp but as far as wattage when you use the Surround mode feature it optimize all 5.1 channels to the 2 channel stereo. And it rocked. I previously tried out a 2 new Yamaha receivers the RX-V4and & RX-A2A and they were god-awful. I couldn't get the latter one out of protective mode though they look very well built the sound was lacking the detail compared to Sony. I thought about keeping this fellow and have done so for the last few months last But it seems like he could do some good for someone else's home besides sitting on the sidelines looking on. I would like to add the Bluetooth is really good. I'm obviously not used to it and while I was outside the adverttised range (20ft I believe) and this fellow didn't stuttered one bit.So lets give him/her his due respect and allow it to help and support someone else home. I wouldn't want to have to sit on the side line either for a bunch of old-timers that don't have all the HDMI inputs and hi-res decoders that I can provide. Would you? So there you have it. I do appreciate your consideration and patience. God bless and good luck!
