This archtop guitar is a very nicely preserved and excellent sounding example of guitars made in the late 1940s in Schonbach, Czechoslovakia – it is a predecessor to the standardized 463 model manufactured in 50s and 60s by the Cremona company situated in the same town and still carries on the style of pre-war guitars made in the region. The instrument has solid wood spruce top and maple sides and back, it's in very good and preserved condition especially for its age, completely and comfortably playable, and has a snappy, ringing sound with great dynamic response!

The guitar has been checked and cleaned and it is in a very nicely preserved condition. It has a comfortable maple neck with a wide ebony fretboard, with a fairly recent fretjob allowing for a nice playability and intonation. The tuners work fine and are original (only the buttons were swapped for brass ones) and there are no structural issues. The bridge is a typical adjustable one with restored string slots, the varnish is all original too with some authentic patina. The guitar used to have a home made pickup installed, but not irreversible changes were made to it – it is also a part of the purchase, along with the pickguard (it has a pot wired and installed).

As it is with most historical guitars I sell, this is not only a collectable instrument, but also one that is 100 % ready to be played on and used as it should be.

There is a new set of 11 gauge strings on the guitar. I will gladly change the configuration of the guitar to left-handed upon your request. Its original shaped hard-shell is included in the purchase.

I just love old guitars – and always do my best to satisfy those who purchase them from me! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like any further information. I always pack the guitars super carefully and ship worldwide! The guitar will be shipped insured using priority post. Please contact me anytime for other options (UPS etc.)
