The Emmons came to me from a family member. The D 10 Push Pull belongs to Mr. Gene Payne, he was a local player with a group called Hi Cotton, among other groups. His daughter said that he jammed with Jimmy Dean.
Mr. Payne has a few items that the family is selling. The items have all been used and enjoyed. I just have a vintage Fender BandMaster from 1963, he also has a 60’S Fender JazzMaster all original and well-played, along with the Emmons Steel Guitar.
This is my first steel guitar, so I have very little knowledge of the working condition. Overall, it looks to be all original, I would say it needs a good cleaning all over and the underneath also. The underside shows darkness on the rods, most likely from being played in Bars with smoking from the old days. The sound pedal is very dirty, as are the other 8 pedals. I have not tried to clean at all. But the quality of this Emmons is made of stainless steel, and I see no major marks other than the normal ware. It looks like if you want to polish all the medals, and deep clean it would look like a piece of art from the 1960s.
OverallIf you need more pictures or info, you are welcome to email me questions. Thanks for looking and good luck!
