About This Listing

An absolutely beautiful, deep oranged 1973 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar in fantastic condition. No repairs or damage. Frets have tons f life left, as this guitar was not played much in its life. Action is high and needs a setup so I’ve deducted 500 from the sale price so you can do it yourself. Other than slightly high action it’s in fantastic shape with no belt buckle rash, cracks, damage repair or issues of any kind. I have dozens of other guitars and no time for repairs so my loss is your gain.

Produces a beautiful tone and projection. Studio engineers will love this guitar as it needs no EQ at all, it just folds right into a mix like no other acoustic on earth. Plays great and has an absolutely wonderful tone.

Has the sought after red tortoise pickguard instead of the ugly black plastic one. Features a deep orange vintage color and wonderfully aged patina. One like this won’t come along anytime soon. This one is arguably one of the nicest D-18’s on reverb.

No cracks or damage. Well taken care of. True survivor! Just got new strings on May 2023. Neck was dry and was given about 5 coats of Dunlop lemon oil which it sucked right up. Ebony board looks new. Plays great. No issues. Top is flat as a board. I have had a few of these, most of the headstocks are all chipped and banged up but this one looks brand new. Not a single scratch on the headstock! Very rare indeed.

The body does have some regular normal scuffs from being played and used for 50 years but nothing serious at all, pictures tel the story. It is an early 1970s guitar after all but other than that, there are no big dings or cracks or anything serious to speak of. It’s in very great shape and ready for another 50 years of making beautiful music. Frets in great condition. Saddle & bridge flush with the top and in perfect shape.

Will be detuned for shipping and well packed / bubble wrapped, secured and shipped in a guitar box with extra care. We are OCD about how we clean, care for and pack/ship our guitars so you can rest easy when you buy a guitar from us. Sold AS IS - no returns

Any questions please ask, open to trades of any kind. Thanks for looking have a wonderful day .
