Offering a rare 1940's era PHILCO Dynamic Microphone. This is a real beauty, dripping top to bottom with highly polished chrome, including the gorgeous matching desk stand. The top "head" section housing a high quality dynamic low-z directional element, threaded to the desk stand having a chrome riser tube and weighty chrome/iron base. It's wired to a 5' cable terminating with a 3 pin male XLR plug. This unit originated as a combination speaker/microphone as part of a Philco entertainment center. We removed the cone speaker and installed the dynamic element, making this microphone compatible with any modern amp or mixer. (The momentary on-off on the backside has been bypassed so the mic is live al the time. Make no mistake, this is a real show piece, and sounds wonderful as a high quality functioning microphone. Enjoy the look of days gone by. Head unit is 4" in diameter, base is 6", and the total height is 14". ** Audio sample available upon request. Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping. **
In the early 1920s, Philco made storage batteries and battery chargers. In 1928, they entered the radio business, and followed other radio makers such as RCA, Atwater-Kent, Zenith, among others. By the end of 1930, they were selling more radios than any other maker, a position they held for more than 20 years!
