I'm selling two mics with the accompanying case - descriptions below are from the MXL website.
MXL 770 and a MXL 991Wide Cardioid Pencil Condenser Microphone
The MXL 770 is a high-quality multipurpose condenser mic that vocalists gravitate to for its solid low-frequency response and clear high end. To achieve this we use a high-quality FET pre-amp and transformerless balanced output for a wide dynamic range and low noise. The 770 features include a low-frequency roll-off to reduce unwanted rumbling and a -10db pad to facilitate a wide variety of sound sources. The 770 comes with a shock mount to reduce mechanical vibrations and a rugged carrying case. The 770 is a perfect combination of quality, flexibility, and value for both professional and home recording studios.
- Multipurpose workhorse microphone equally at home in a studio or streaming/podcasting setup
- Low-frequency roll-off and -10db pad for a variety of sources
- Neutral voicing provides the clarity needed for critical audio applications
The MXL 991 is a small-diaphragm condenser mic with a fixed cardioid (described by MXL as “wide cardioid”) pickup pattern.
The gold-sputtered diaphragm is 6 microns thick and measures 20mm in diameter. The capsule, and in fact the circuit design, match the MXL 603S, although the vendor’s published frequency charts describe the 991 as a much brighter mic, with a +3dB point at ~5k and +5dB at ~9k.
