1970-71 Gibson J-45 ADJ Deluxe
This is a fine early 70's era beauty. Condition is excellent. There are some very unique features of this period. They were provided for very few years at Gibson. For example, the headstock logo is a pearl inlay vs. the gold sticker used before and after this time is inlaid in a beautiful mahogany extension of the neck. Additionally, the model identifier (J-45) is scripted on the truss rod cover. This was not found on most other models and only during this time periods. The spruce top and the well-aged mahogany back and sides, along with the full body size of the J-45 give this guitar real punch and full spectrum tone. The deep bass you would expect is there along with the clear resonance of the mid and high range. The slightly faded cherryburst finish has some very nice crackle but is in excellent condition, and structurally she is very solid. There is crack that has been fully sealed on the lower bout. No issues there. As with most of this period of Gibson’s, you have the ability to dial in your own set up specs with the adjustable bridge. It's solid and in great shape. She is set up right now with a nice low and comfortable height and the frets are still ready for plenty more play. And play she does. Very easy and very comfortable. Everything is original. A J-45 is a must-have to any collection. But even if you only have the opportunity for one acoustic, this one tics all the boxes. Comes in newer hardshell case. Ready to pull out and play!
