About This Listing

These are in the Dallas area at the moment and available for local pick up as well as free shipping.

Quad Eight 312E discrete 3 band inductor based EQs from the Warner Brothers console in Burbank with selectable frequencies and gain control like an api 550a but actually sounds better to me, probably one of the best solid state EQs I’ve ever heard (some have called them api 550As with inductors but the circuit design is more similar to the 553, with way more frequencies).

I will be replacing the capacitors and cleaning the switches at the time of sale so they will be in excellent electronic condition and gain matched less than .1db of each other. The input is transformer balanced which is rare for the 312 EQ and I will include QE3041 output transformers, they run on bipolar 28v, although 24v is fine.

The eq section in the 312, MM-405, and MM-310 is the same discrete 3 band inductor EQ, fairly broad curves and very musical, they have basically the same discrete amplifiers as CA-127 amp cards, and are considered to be the best of the Quad Eight designs.

These EQs have 2 amp sections and the overall level is controlled by the trim knob on the input. The EQ section uses the 2nd amp stage so it would be easy to turn the first amp into a mic pre with the trim pot knob to control gain and a mic transformer, there’s an output after the first amp, and an input to the 2nd amp, almost like an insert point between the two sections.

(The last 3 photos are examples of how I'll be doing a couple of racked pairs soon with power supply for $4500)

Will be listing other stuff soon like an Altec 250-T3 console, Neve 3416 modules, Neve 1272 pairs racked by Brent Averill (not BAE), Altec 9473a multi band compressor, Neve 8108 parts, etc
