Sonor Signature Horst Link BOP drum 18"-10"-12"-14" Bubinga finish
Very rare drums in the bop sizes. The Horst Link Series are some of the most sought-after drums in the world. And for good reason, the thick beech shells with interior and exterior bubinga plies shells are magical. These were purchased most recently from a shop in the Netherlands and came to us on a trade.
Sizes are as follows:
Bass drum: 18" x 16"
Tom: 10" x 10"
Tom: 12" x 10" (it has been professionally shortened from 12" down to 10") This is why the badge appears not to be centered. The drum sounds amazing.
Floor Tom: 14" x 16" (yes, 16" deep)
Other than the 12" tom, the set is completely original, with no other modifications. Overall condition is good. Mild pitting on all chrome-not severe but needs to be mentioned. There is a bit of rash on 10" tom (probably some contact with the snare drum) and a little bit on the 12" tom. The 10" tom batter hoop has lost some of its chrome plating. Bass drum has a few nicks, mostly on the hoops. Please see pics for details.
The internal muffler on the batter head of the bass drum works perfectly. Heads are as follows: Remo Rennaissance RA batters on the toms with BA Clear Ambassadors on the reso sides. The kick has a Fiberskyn 3 reso head and an Aquarian Super Kick 1 batter head.
The Signature Shell
The deep 12-ply shells are the core of the Signature sound. Due to this careful construction, every shell has a high flectional strength. Signature drums have newly designed extra deep shells, ensuring a perfectly balanced sound volume and projection.
The Signature Sound
The construction of the Signature Series drum shells is different from that of conventional drums. The 12-ply shells are formed tension-free from selected woods. The Heavy shell made of beech with a thickness of 12mm produces a mellow and dry sound.
