Jody Jazz DV series, palladium-plated brass, Chicago model, 7 tip opening, tenor mouthpiece - I would say that this is unequivocally the most robust, free-blowing piece I’ve ever played on, you can get so much power and volume out of this thing while still having a nice phat core. It has that unique secondary window that I’ve rarely seen elsewhere, and also what descriptions call a “scalloped chamber”, you can see in the photos. It’s in good shape, just minor cosmetic wear you’d expect from a mouthpiece with some years under its belt. Comes with a Rovner ligature and cap.
This is a fantastic piece that can be used effectively in multiple musical contexts. I’m selling mainly to downsize my mouthpiece collection to the few I use most often and there’s a Berg Larsen I’ve had for a decade that I highly favor. For any additional angles/photos or if any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. If you’re in the market, also check out the other tenor pieces I have listed, as well as for alto. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
Note: a section of the material in the ligature was intentionally hole punched out (it looks like) by the previous owner. This was probably done to mirror the secondary window in the mouthpiece and allow the reed to vibrate even more freely. I do however have some other ligatures available if you don’t prefer the one pictured.
