These unique, resonator guitars have been played by a number of professional musicians over the years, for example Billy Bragg. The 1133 student model was designed to compete with the then newly popular Les Paul guitars. Despite its look, this is an acoustic resonator guitar. It has a 22” scale. The truss rod is not adjustable, but the neck adjusts by screws under the silver covers at the back of the guitar. The major components of this guitar are all original, including neck, body, resonator (most of the screws), nut, tailpiece, and tuning machines. The guitar has had the biscuit bridge rebuilt, the pegs have been replaced with period correct tuners, and features a Schatten Design Resonator Guitar Pickup with an input jack at the back of the guitar. The pickup is highly microphonic, which creates a full, sometimes eerie tone when amplified. The pickup is prone to feedback, and when playing out I use a notch filter and volume pedal. The guitar is definitely showing its age, but it does not need any major repairs before playing. The guitar comes with a Les Paul Jr. case. The case is in poor condition, but it fits the guitar well.
