About This Listing

5-String Open Back

27″ Scale Length

Maple Rim with Double Tortoise Binding

2-Piece Maple Neck with center strip

Ebony Fingerboard

Pear wood Head & Heel Plates

All parts are original except for the Grover tuners. Its in great playing shape and I have had it recently serviced by 2 luthiers to treat the fretboard, check the fret height and adjust the bridge for playability. It shows its age in a few places, wear on the neck in first position and there's a mark on the first fret (see pictures). The fret board had been untreated for a while before I got hold of it and the frets had started to poke through the lining on the fretboard slightly(see pictures) but I have since had it professionally treated to ensure that it would not continue to shrink. There is a very small hole on the left side of the neck near the drum head (see pictures) not sure why this was done but it is very small and does not effect the playability of the instrument.

Comes with a chip-board case (pictured)

I am pricing this beautiful peace of banjo history low to sell quick, so if you want a legendary banjo at a steal this is it!
