DESCRIPTION This preamp was offered by Onkyo from 1983-1987 as part of their upper-end Integra series. It features the proprietary Dynamic Super Servo and Delta Power Supply technologies for extremely high dynamic range and low noise. Check out the impressive specifications in photo #14. A front panel phono cartridge control lets you select from either conventional Moving Magnet or high-end Moving Coil (with loading options for each) plus correct equalization for 78RPM records. The Recording Selector gives the option of listening to one source while recording another, or dubbing between two tape decks. Note that this one is 120V US-spec. Many Onkyo Integras I see online are Japan home market for 100V mains, which would call for an add-on transformer to be safe and reliable here.

SERVICED & TESTED The unit was very clean when I acquired it from the estate of a retired Collins Aerospace engineer. All controls and switches operated smoothly and quietly, but I went ahead and treated the controls with Deoxit F5 and switches/jacks with Deoxit D5 to ensure reliability. For testing, the P-3030 was mated to other high-quality equipment of the same era: Shure V15-IV cartridge in a Pioneer PL-5 turntable, NAD 2400 THX Audio amp, Mission 763 Tower speakers, and Monster cables. Over the course of several weeks it performed beautifully, as expected. All inputs and outputs operated normally. Note: the moving coil cartridge input was checked with a signal generator, as I don't currently possess an MC cartridge.

APPEARANCE The front panel looks very good, with only a few small marks. The top has significant scratches and scrapes, some of which have been touched up, but if you stack another component on top you will never notice it. Back panel, sides, bottom plate, feet, and line cord are all very nice.  Please zoom in on all photos to be sure this very good Onkyo meets your appearance standards. Be aware that a vintage item may have some small marks that don't readily show up in pictures.

NOTICE All of the above info is a snapshot in time from October 2023. As is normal practice for vintage electronics, there is no guarantee or warranty of future condition or performance. There will be NO RETURNS, REFUNDS OR ADJUSTMENTS!

FREE BONUS Reproductions of the Service Manual and the P-3030 page from the 1983 catalog.

SHIPPING Will ship via my choice of UPS or FedEx Ground to street addresses in the 48 states. Delivery signature will be required. I will pay for Reverb Safe Shipping Insurance, but we are unlikely to need it as your Onkyo will be packed in a sturdy carton with custom-fitted new styrofoam similar to original packaging from the factory.
