This wonderful percussion pedal was produced at the Moscow Calculating and Analytical Machines Plant named after V.D. Kalmykov in the late 80s. One of the plant's activities was the production of multiprocessor computing systems, including for the space industry.
According to the creators, when the rubber membrane is struck, the attachment imitates the percussion instrument of the same name (rotate - turn, tom - drum) in which the pitch of the sound changes when the hoop is rotated, affecting the tension of the membrane.
