One of a kind Tom Tutay Designed/Re-Engineered Cary SLP-30 Stereo Tube Preamp with added Stereo Tube Phono stage and outboard power supply. I did test it and it does work and power on. Since Tom is no longer with us, I do not know the particulars about this unit. It is a full function top of the line Cary SLP-30 that has had the internal power transformer removed and placed in a separate chassis with an umbilical cord. The room inside the Cary was then used for Tom's design phono stage using 3 12ax7 tubes. As with all of Tom's designs, it is built for performance and sound quality. The Phono stage uses 3 12ax7s, the line stage used 2 12au7s and a single 6CA4 rectifier tube. The selector switch still functions normally with 6 Stereo inputs. The Monitor switch has been replaced with a toggle switch for the added phono section. The balance control has been removed and has been replaced by a single toggle switch that appears to be a mute switch. Tom incorporated mute switches with everything he designed. The original nice Alps volume control is used, along with the nice quality gold plated ceramic input/output jacks on the back. The unit is powered on and off by a toggle switch on the power supply. Tom also, when he could, would install an outboard power supply. The cover is missing and is not included. It should not be too difficult to make a nice cover. It is in nice cosmetic condition. Tom's business card is inside the unit and dated 7-95. As mentioned, I did test the unit and it does work. I did not listen to it critically. I do not know the particulars other than what is mentioned. It will probably need a "health check" to verify that everything is working and specs out as it should. It has excellent potential as Tom's designs are well regarded and well respected. It will be sold as described, as seen in pictures, may need restoration/repair/etc. The shipping cost includes safe packing, insurance, prompt shipping and tracking number.
