About This Listing

Up for sale vintage Les Paul Deluxe 1970-1975 according to the serial number. It’s also stamped “2” above the serial number, I’m assuming that means it was a factory second.

This thing has tons of mojo and plays/sounds amazing!

Overall it’s in good shape for its age and comes with its original case!. It obviously does have some nicks, scratches and dings but no breaks or repairs.

The frets show some wear but still have plenty of life to re-crown them when the time comes down the road. This guitar is a “player grade”, it has been played tons. It’s definitely one of the “good ones”! The top of the bridge pickup has even been worn down a little from pick attacks, it’s been played that much.

It does have vintage aftermarket schaller tuners, this was a common upgrade back in the day.

The original case is in good shape, all the latches work great. Currently the headstock rests on the bottom inside the case, so I prop it up a little bit for safety with a bandana.

Ive owned tons of Kalamazoo Les Pauls and this is definitely one of the special ones, unfortunately I have to let it go to fund a vehicle.

It plays great as it is with pretty low action, but may need adjusted to your preference upon arrival.

If you have any questions or want more pictures let me know.

This guitar will be professionally boxed up and shipped fully insured with a signature required upon delivery.

Product Overview
The Gibson Les Paul Deluxe was released as a replacement for the Les Paul Standard in late 1969, equipped with mini-humbuckers sourced from Gibson's purchase of the Epiphone factory, and a new headstock "volute" implemented to better prevent headstock breaks, the Les Paul Deluxe otherwise very similar to the Standard model.

Some time during the late 1970s, Norlin-era Gibson decided that the mahogany available to them was of poor quality and switched essentially all production guitars to laminated 4- to 6-piece maple necks before going back to mahogany in the early 1980s. The Cherry Red and two "Sparkle" finishes in particular are quite rare and command significantly more money in today's market.
