The VCA is the heart of this unit and all audio passes thru it. This service is an additional $140 normally is a really nice add-on that softens the knee when compressing and delivers lower artifacts when compressing heavy which is why we recommend it with every mod we do on vintage DBX compressors.
This unit has our DBX 1046 Burr Brown input and output modifications, complete audio path upgrade and Power supply modifications.
The service increases the headroom of the unit, widens the frequency response and increases the depth of field. The PSU mod lowers overall noise in the unit while making it larger and fuller.
It has been professionally modified by our technicians and given the seal of approval to go to work at you home or in your studio.
